
Crossing Hvanna glacial river in Thorsmork/Godaland can be tricky. It's not very wide but the waterbed is usually very rocky and rough and the current can be quite powerful at times.

This is where the glacier lagoon used to be but now it's filled up with 25 million cubic meters of tephra from Eyjafjallajokull volcano, which the Jeep and Nigel are standing on.

The blue and white wall in the back is Gigjokull outlet glacier. You can see the lines in the rock above that show where the glacier used to be. It has melted considerably and particularly it melted when the hot water flooded down from the crater just above.
