This tour is a blend of the classic Golden circle where we visit Thingvellir national park, Geysir geothermal area, Gullfoss waterfall, Kerid crater lake and Icelandic highland.
After the stop at Gullfoss waterfall we head to the highland and we use a mountain road that heads West from Gullfoss, just below Langjokull glacier, where we cross Asbrandsa river in two parts and then Lambahraun lava field on our way to Hlodufell mountain. From Hlodufell mountain we drive south to cross Rotarsandur a black sand valley and pass Raudafell and Gullkista mountains. We then stop at the rim of Klofningar mountain to admire the view over Laugardalur and Laugarvatn lake before we head down the steep hills of Klofningar towards Laugarvatn village. From there we head to Grimsnes to visit Kerid crater lake on our way back to Reykjavik.
